Community Counts – news and resources to help local people

Welcome to the Community Counts column on Hello Lincoln – a round-up of the news from the groups, schemes and organisations that may just be able to provide the support or help you or your family need.

Much of the information in these columns has been supplied by Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Partnership, but we’re inviting all groups working in the wider community to get in touch with their news.

We’ll also be running special focus features highlighting the work of organisations helping others in their communities so please tell us about those running in your area too – see today’s feature on Buddies’ Dementia Café in Nettleham.

Apply for grants of up to £1,000

Organisations, such as voluntary/community organisations, registered charities, schools, health bodies, parish/town councils, social enterprises, and Community Interest Companies, can apply for grants of up to £1,000 through the One Stop Community Partnership programme.

Funding is available to groups operating within a two-mile radius of a One Stop store which is managed by the environmental charity Groundwork.

The programme aims to support projects addressing food poverty, helping vulnerable or elderly individuals, assisting low-income families, and promoting healthier lifestyles.

The scheme cannot support food bank or breakfast club projects that are requesting funding to buy food items. Please contact your local One Stop store manager as it may be possible to discuss setting up a food bank donation point at your local store. Funding can be awarded to food banks for equipment such as fridges, freezers or storage units.

See Groundwork website page.

NHS Wheelchair Services

The NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) wants feedback on NHS Wheelchair Services in the county to improve this facility for users and their carers.

This survey seeks to understand:

  • What is working well with the wheelchair services provided in Lincolnshire.
  • What requires improvement with the service.
  • What would an excellent service look like for you.
  • Is there any information, training or education that would help you.

Please complete the survey by Monday, April 20 at NHS website

Lincolnshire State of the Sector Survey

Are you part of a voluntary, community, faith or social enterprise (VCFSE) organisation in Lincolnshire? Have your say on the voluntary sector in the county.

The Lincolnshire State of the Sector Survey is now live, and organisations across the county are invited to share what life really looks like right now: the challenges organisations are facing, the opportunities ahead, and the support they need to thrive.

Delivered on behalf of Involving Lincs, in partnership with HWLincs and supported by local infrastructure organisations across the county, including Lincolnshire Community Foundation (LCF), the survey will help create a clear, shared picture of Lincolnshire’s voluntary and community sector.

The insights gathered will directly inform future support, collaboration, and decision-making across the county.

The survey

  • Takes around 20 minutes to complete
  • Helps shape future support for the sector
  • Three organisations (not individuals) will receive a £150 donation – which you can choose to award to your own organisation or another group you support

To complete the survey follow this link to the Smart Survey website.
