Help vulnerable families this Christmas
A community group in Lincoln is organising a free festive event to ensure vulnerable families don’t go without joy this Christmas.
The event, called Santa’s Last Stop, will take place on Christmas Day from 10am to 12pm at St Swithin’s Community Centre on Croft Street. It is being organised by local resident Kellie-Marie Bryan and a small team of volunteers who want to support families facing hardship.
“Christmas Day can be one of the most joyful times of the year, but for many families, it can also be one of the hardest,” said Kellie-Marie. “We’re creating a morning filled with warmth, laughter, and a little bit of magic.”
The event will offer families a VIP-style Christmas experience, completely free of charge. Around 150 guests are expected, with children able to enjoy entertainers, carol singers, elves, fairies and a visit from Santa Claus himself. Parents will also be able to relax and enjoy the festivities with hot drinks, food and a welcoming atmosphere.
“All we want is for every child to feel the magic of Christmas and every parent to leave with their heart a little lighter,” Kellie-Marie added.
To help make the event happen, organisers are appealing for support from the community. They are looking for:
- Entertainers, singers, magicians, dancers and DJs
- Elves and fairies to help on the day
- Food vendors or caterers who can supply hot drinks, pastries or breakfast food
- Local businesses willing to donate gifts or supplies
Santa’s Last Stop is in the process of registering as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), and everything on the day will be donated to ensure no family has to pay.
“This project is about community, kindness and bringing people together,” said Kellie-Marie. “It’s not just about breakfast—it’s about giving families hope and a reason to smile on Christmas morning.”
