Plant snowdrops in memory of children
The North Kesteven Snowdrop event will be held at Whisby Nature Park on Sunday, February 22.
Organised by North Kesteven District Council in partnership with the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust the annual event supports Child Bereavement UK and visitors will be invited to plant snowdrops in memory of loved ones at the park on Moor Lane, Thorpe on the Hill.
The planting will take place between 12pm and 3pm with a minimum cash donation of £2 for a snowdrop to plant in a dedicated area of remembrance with volunteers on hand to help.
The snowdrops have been donated by Pennells Garden Centre in South Hykeham with all proceeds going to the charity, which supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement.
Council chair, Cllr Chris Goldson will attend the event: “As poignant displays of snowdrops are planted by those impacted by child bereavement, it is an honour to partner with Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust again this year to be able to provide this time and space for reflection and remembrance.”
