Are you brimming with ideas, but don’t know what to do with them?
Or does thinking about your future seem daunting?
Futuremaker is a week-long programme in Lincoln designed to give young people the confidence and skills to make a difference in their own lives and for the wider community.
It also provides a nationally recognised qualification (SFEDI Awards Level 1 Award in Enterprising Skills and Employability).
It’s run by the Team Academy for Social Change (TASC), part of Creative Rebel CIC, based at The Terrace in Lincoln and has two cohorts starting on October 13 and 27.
“Futuremaker has shown just how much potential there is in the young people of Lincoln when you give them real responsibility and trust them to lead,” said Andy Farenden of TASC.
“It’s not about theory — it’s about doing. In just one week, participants discover confidence, creativity, and teamwork they didn’t know they had, and the results genuinely make a difference in our community.
“We’ve seen ideas from Futuremaker go on to shape local projects, influence organisations, and kickstart people’s careers. It’s proof that when you invest in young people, they invest back in the world around them.”
Each cohort works in teams of up to 12 people to tackle a live challenge set by a local charity, community group, or organisation. These challenges respond to issues that matter — from reimagining public spaces to building sustainable futures.
With the support of trained team coaches, the participants spend the week learning by doing: researching, testing ideas, and pitching your solutions to the people who can make them happen.

What past Futuremakers had to say
“TASC’s Futuremaker programme gave me the skills, confidence and mindset to actually turn my ideas into something real. Working on a project that could change how a public space is used was amazing – it didn’t feel like just a class exercise, it felt real. I learnt how to work with a proper brief, research under pressure and turn our ideas into something that could actually happen. It’s made me realise that what I’m learning can have a real impact in my community.”

“I came into Futuremaker thinking I already knew what I was good at – three years at university will do that to you. But this week was different. It wasn’t just theory, it was about actually working in a team, thinking on our feet, and coming up with ideas that might make a real difference. I’ve honestly learnt more in one week with TASC than I did in three years of lectures and essays – not because uni wasn’t valuable, but because this felt real. I’ve built confidence, learnt how to think creatively under pressure, and discovered skills I didn’t even know I had. It’s completely changed how I see myself and what I could do next.”
