Lincoln’s live music scene with Jo Richards

The Joiners Arms was full to bursting last Friday night with The Faith Estate leading the line up.

You would have been lucky to squeeze through the door after 8pm and all three bands raised the roof with their youthful energy and talent.

Original material was expertly mixed with covers of The Doors and The Fall and it's great to see the next generation paying homage to the music of the past.

The pick for this weekend has to be the Cosmic Sausages (pictured) appearing at The Vic on Friday in celebration of the Sausage Festival at the Castle.

Don't be fooled by the pantomime look, these are very clever musicians. They create a fabulous, interactive show with, 'folky instruments, beautiful harmonies and quirky humour’.

The Engine Shed will bring home the re-scheduled New Model Army date on Saturday.

This unique, alternative new-age band from Bradford have been playing for over 40 years now and will be taking a devoted fan-base with them on their European tour.
