Literary festival comes to Welton and Nettleham
A celebration of reading, writing and creativity will be held in two Lincoln area villages this summer as WordFest returns to West Lindsey.
Each festival brings together authors, storytellers, workshops and family-friendly activities - perfect for book lovers of all ages.
Building on the success of previous years, the 2026 programme offers a vibrant mix of live events designed to inspire, entertain, and bring people together through the power of words.
Villages near Lincoln taking part are:
- 6 June – WordFest Welton A lively opening to this year’s series, filled with hands-on creative activities and literary experiences for all ages.
- 4 July – WordFest Nettleham A brand-new addition to the WordFest family, bringing creative opportunities to the heart of the village.
Events in the Wolds and Gainsborough will be held later in the year.
Cllr Emma Bailey, Chair of the Prosperous Communities Committee at West Lindsey District Council said: “WordFest has become a real highlight for our communities. Not only is it a celebration of reading and writing, it’s also about creating spaces where people can come together, be inspired and discover something new.
“We’re incredibly proud to support a festival that grows year on year and continues to showcase the creativity and talent that thrives across West Lindsey.”
Full programmes and booking details for each event will be released in the weeks leading up to each festival. Residents are encouraged to keep an eye on the council’s website and social media channels to make sure they don’t miss out.
