Lincoln households to receive food waste caddies this spring

Weekly food waste recycling will begin in Lincoln from the end of March 2026.

Residents across the city will receive a set of food waste caddies to help make recycling easier and more convenient.

Households will be provided with a 5-litre indoor kitchen caddy, a roll of liners, and a 23-litre kerbside caddy for outdoor collection.

Households in flats or apartments with shared outdoor bin areas will also receive a 5-litre indoor caddy, with their shared outdoor food waste container placed in their usual bin storage area.

The new caddies have been designed to make food recycling simple, and residents can see how their size compares to a standard household bin in photos released by the council.
