Lincoln Red calves born in Trust herd
Meet Fawn – the first calf born into a herd of Lincoln Red cattle cared for by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.
Fawn was almost immediately joined by two other calves born into the herd and a total of 18 are expected - they will join the other Lincoln Reds grazing at the nature reserves run by the Trust including the former Woodhall Spa Airfield.
The presence of the cattle encourages biodiversity on the reserves where the Trust also has sheep for conservation grazing.
The Woodhall Spa reserve is also home to a Memorial Garden near its entrance to commemorate its wartime role.
