Adam’s volley bags Goal of the Month award
Adam Reach has landed the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month for December following his stunning volley against Barnsley at Oakwell.
Reach beat competition from Middlesbrough’s Leo Castledine (while on loan at Huddersfield Town), Luton Town’s Nigel Lonwijk, and Perry Ng of Cardiff City to win the award for his December 29 shot.
City supporters voted for the strike, which combined with the choices from a judging panel, determined the winner for the left-back, who signed for Lincoln at the end of last summer.
Judge and Sky Sports Pundit Don Goodman said: “Adam Reach’s list of spectacular goals expanded with this beauty! This could be up there as one of his best.
“A looping clearance from a long throw landed perfectly on his right foot, and he couldn’t have caught his dipping volley any better as it flew in off the crossbar.”
Reach said: “It was just instinct, I thought if I hit it pure and got it on target, anything can happen. I was delighted to see it go in, and with my right foot, too.
“It was fantastic to score a goal like that and it was made even more special by the fact it sealed a really impressive win for us.”
