Busy skies over RAF Waddington
It’s been busy week in the skies over RAF Waddington as the air base has welcomed the UK’s NATO allies for Exercise Cobra Warrior, which starts on Monday and runs until October 15.
As reported on Tuesday on this website, residents around RAF Waddington have been warned about the extra noise created by fast jets, transport aircraft and support helicopters forming the second part of this year’s exercise.
Aircraft and personnel from the German Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force have already touched down in Lincolnshire, joining the RAF in readiness for the UK’s largest and most complex air exercise.
And there’s more to come with the Italian Air Force and the United States Air Force set to join the Exercise over the coming days.
The multinational training strengthens the UK’s cooperation with allies, builds interoperability, and ensures the RAF remains ready for the challenges of the future.
