Overnight maintenance scheduled on A46 Lincoln Bypass
A section of the A46 Lincoln Bypass is set to undergo overnight maintenance to carry out essential safety and upkeep work.
It will take place between the A46 Carholme Roundabout and the A158 Wragby Road Roundabout on Friday 14th November, from 7:00pm to 6:00am.
Karen Cassar, Assistant Director for Highways at Lincolnshire County Council, said conducting the work overnight helps reduce disruption to daytime traffic.
"We undertake this sort of proactive work to ensure that the road can be used as planned. Across the night, our crews will be out cutting grass, trimming hedges, treating weeds, cleaning signs, and clearing drains. West Lindsey District Council litter picking operatives will also be in attendance."
Roundabouts along the route will remain open to north-south traffic. A signed diversion route will be in place as follows:
A57 (Carholme Road) → B1273 (The Avenue/Yarborough Road/Yarborough Crescent/Longdales Road) → B1182 (Ruskin Avenue) → A1434 (Wragby Road), and vice versa.
Karen Cassar added:
"These works will cost around £20,000 and will ensure that surface water drains off the road safely. The grass and hedge trimming will help visibility, and the sign cleaning will maintain the appearance of this section of road."
She thanked drivers for their patience while the maintenance is carried out.
