Fake £20s – man wanted for questioning.

Do you recognise this man?  Police believe he may have information about counterfeit £20 notes being used around Lincoln.

Officers are investigating a report of fraud by false representation in Lincoln and would like to identify and speak with the man in the photos as they believe he may have key information.

It was reported that a man had responded to an advert for a ring on Facebook Marketplace and had paid on collection at an address in Lincoln using counterfeit £20 notes. 

The man is white, with short brown, greying hair and a small amount of facial hair of the same colour. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue coat and black trousers.

“Various lines of inquiry have been conducted since the incident on October 18, 2025, and we are now reaching out to members of the public for assistance in identifying this man,” said a police spokesperson.

In other incidents fake £20 notes have been used to buy goods in shops and for take-away food.
