Flood warnings

Three flood alerts have been issued for the Lincoln area following recent rainfall.

The alerts from the Government’s Floodline service indicate that flooding is possible but differ from flood warnings for areas where flooding is likely.

Alerts have been issued because forecasts show that overflow from watercourses will not impact properties, but the public is reminded to take care when driving or walking in the areas listed below. The flood status will be updated before midday today.

Areas affected are:

Lincoln Watercourses - Witham, Sincil Dyke, Great Gowts Drain, Fossdyke Canal, Boultham Drain, Brayford Pool;

Heighington, Dunston, Potterhanworth and Nocton;

River Witham and its tributaries from Claypole to Lincoln.
