Food waste jobs on the menu at recruitment event

A special recruitment event for West Lindsey District Council’s new food waste collection service will take place later this month.

More than 17 new jobs are up for grabs including positions for general labourers and drivers (C1) before the service launches in 2026.

The event will take place on Saturday, November 29 at the West Lindsey Depot based at Caenby Corner, Market Rasen, LN8 2AR, between 10am - 2pm.

There will be four sessions available and potential candidates are invited to attend at either 10am, 11am, 12noon or 1pm to meet staff and learn more about the vacancies.

Cllr Emma Bailey, Chair of the Prosperous Communities Committee said: “Our new food waste collection service is a major step forward in delivering on West Lindsey District Council’s environmental commitments. The introduction follows central government changes set out in the Environment Act 2021, which requires all local councils who collect your waste from the kerbside, to collect food waste separately on a weekly basis. We are investing in our people and our future, and we are keen to welcome new team members who can add value to our service”.

Alan Bowley, the council’s Director of Operational and Commercial Services, added: “We are looking for people who take pride in their work, enjoy being part of a team, and want to make a positive contribution to their local community.

“This event is a great chance to come and have an informal chat with us in person and find out more about the jobs we have available. We will be happy to answer any of your questions and give you a guided tour around our purpose-built central depot. Our recruitment process will be quick and easy; all you will need to bring along is a copy of your CV, your passport, or birth certificate and National Insurance Number and your driving licence – if you're applying for a driver job.”

Those unable to attend on the day can send their CVs to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by November 29. All applications will be considered.
