Labour retains control of city council
City of Lincoln Council will still be run by a Labour majority after yesterday’s local elections.
The party won four of the 11 seats up for grabs giving it a total of 17, which was enough to retain control of the authority but it lost three seats at the ballot box where there was a turn-out of 36.73 per cent.
The new make-up of the council is:
- Labour Party - 17 seats
- Liberal Democrats - 7 seats
- Reform UK - 4 seats
- The Conservative Party - 2 seats
- Lincoln Independents - 2 seats
- The Green Party - 1 seat
