Labour retains control of city council

Labour retains control of city council

City of Lincoln Council will still be run by a Labour majority after yesterday’s local elections.

The party won four of the 11 seats up for grabs giving it a total of 17, which was enough to retain control of the authority but it lost three seats at the ballot box where there was a turn-out of 36.73 per cent.

The new make-up of the council is: 

  • Labour Party - 17 seats
  • Liberal Democrats - 7 seats
  • Reform UK - 4 seats
  • The Conservative Party - 2 seats
  • Lincoln Independents - 2 seats
  • The Green Party - 1 seat
