Lincoln City 3, Bradford City 0
Lincoln City extended its unbeaten run in Sky Bet League One to 11 games by beating Bradford City at the LNER Stadium last night.
A crowd of 10,064 saw Freddie Draper and Jack Moylan put City two goals up by the break after a dominant first half performance and then Ben House marked his return from injury with a goal in the final 10 minutes.
Michael Skubala named an unchanged side for the second game in a row to take on the Bantams. Reeco Hackett retained his place for his 100th City appearance, while House and Tom Bayliss were both named on the bench following lengthy injury layoffs.
The Imps were the dominant force in the first half and took the lead after just seven minutes Reeco Hackett delivered left-footed into the path of Draper who guided a powerful header past the outstretched arm of Sam Walker.
City got the second goal four minutes before half-time when Hackett saw his effort blocked inside the area, but the ball fell to Street who guided it into the path of Moylan, whose first-time finish gave Walker no chance.
The returning Ben House was introduced with 13 minutes to go – alongside Dom Jefferies – and was soon guiding Tom Hamer’s cross from the right flank past the stranded Walker.
Head coach Michael Skubala hailed City's fans for their role in inspiring one of City's best performances of the season.
"The fans are pushing us and they were sucking the ball into the net - they've been sensational all season
"You want the team to turn up in these big games and it was absolutely brilliant from the lads. The first half was just electric, probably the best I've seen us play. To a man it was electric.
"In the second half it was a professional performance to make the right decisions in the moments, we got our third and could have got more.
"When we move the ball quick, counter attack well and make the pitch big we make it difficult for teams to build against us. We think we're a match for anyone when we're like that."
