Man dies in blaze

A man in his fifties has died after being rescued from a house fire in Lincoln on Wednesday.

Lincolnshire Police received a report of a fire at a property on Addison Drive in the St Giles area of the city shortly before 1.50pm on October 15. A man was rescued from inside the house, but he died a short time later in hospital.

“His family have been made aware, and our thoughts are with his friends and family at this difficult time.  

Addison Drive was closed yesterday,” said police spokesperson.

“Thank you for everyone's patience while emergency services worked to contain the fire and carry out inquiries.”

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
