Mobility scooters stolen
Mobility scooters have been stolen from outside homes in the Moorland area of Lincoln.
The chain securing a red Roadmaster Plus mobility scooter in the front garden of a property on Turner Avenue was cut and left at the scene between 8pm on Friday and Saturday morning.
Around the same time another mobility scooter was taken from outside a property on Cotman Road.
“The theft of the scooter is particularly devastating for the owner, who will now struggle to get out and about and fetch supplies,” said a police spokesperson
There was also the attempted theft of a scooter on Westwick Drive overnight Friday/Saturday when three people all dressed in dark clothing and wearing balaclavas tried to the machine before an alarm was set off. They then fled the scene.
“We are urging mobility scooter owners to make sure their property is secured and locked, and for anyone with information – or anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in these areas – to contact us.”
