Public information events on North Hykeham Relief Road

The public can find out how the building of the North Hykeham Relief Road could impact them through three information events in February.

These will offer residents the chance to meet the construction team and find out how the new road will be built when works start in March,

The events will take place from 3pm to 8pm on/at:

  • Tuesday, February 3 at Waddington Community Hub (High St, LN5 9RF)
  • Wednesday, February 4 at Bracebridge Heath Pavilion (entrance next to No. 67 Bath Road)
  • Thursday, February 5 at the Bentley Hotel (Newark Rd, LN6 9NH)

Cllr Michael Cheyne, Lincolnshire County Council’s Executive Member for Highways, said: "This is an opportunity for people to come and meet the construction team that will be building the North Hykeham Relief Road.

“Not only can people find out more about construction plans and how the road will be built, but there will also be information about road closures and some of the plans the team has for giving back to the community throughout the project.

“We’ll also have several 4D models available at the events, in addition to a display of some of the artefacts archaeologists discovered over recent months, including roman pottery and a Neolithic axe head dating back 5,000 years.

“We encourage anyone interested in the project to attend.”

Lincolnshire County Council’s Executive voted unanimously to take the North Hykeham Relief Road project forward during its meeting on Tuesday, January 6 (subject to Government sign-off of the final business case), marking a major milestone in delivering the final section of Lincoln’s ring road.

A new dual carriageway built linking the A46 Pennells Roundabout to the Lincoln Eastern Bypass with new roundabouts built at South Hykeham Road, Brant Road and Grantham Road. Bridges will also be built including at Station Road and over the River Witham.

Work is scheduled to take until the summer of 2029.
