Report bad driving through Op Snap

Report bad driving through Op Snap

Police are reminding motorists – especially those with dash cams – that they can help make roads safer by reporting driving that puts others at risk.

Operation Snap (Op Snap) is an online portal where the public can upload footage of suspected driving offences. Every single submission is viewed and when the footage shows a traffic offence, action is taken. In 2025 a total of 2,841 alleged offences were reported through Op Snap.

Offences such as:

  • Dangerous driving
  • Driving without due care and attention
  • Careless driving
  • Not wearing a seatbelt
  • Failing to stop at a red traffic light
  • Crossing solid white lines
  • Offences where a driver is clearly not in proper control of a vehicle

The information provided will help police decide if there is enough evidence of an offence, which can be investigated and prosecuted.

If the information witnesses provide is not enough to investigate further, we will send vehicle details to officers for intelligence purposes.

People submitting a report through Operation Snap must be willing to attend court to give evidence, should the case go that far.

Whilst the force will appreciate the time and commitment required to report an incident of bad driving, the evidence provided may not be enough to meet the criteria for the alleged offender to appear in court.

Operation Snap can’t be used to report road traffic collisions – if witnessed please call 101.
