Rugby Club has fundraising campaign to secure permanent home
Lincoln Rugby Football Club has launched an ambitious crowdfunding campaign to buy the land on which its home ground stands.
The land, currently owned by the University of Lincoln, has recently been put up for sale. Members fear this may have implications for the club’s long-established base and so have come together to raise funds to purchase the site outright.
Abi Lee, Lincoln RFC’s Bids and Fundraising Lead, said: “This isn’t just about buying a sports ground - it’s about protecting a place that means so much to so many.
“Generations of players, families and supporters have made memories here. By securing the land, we’re safeguarding that legacy for the future.”
Lincoln RFC is calling on players, supporters, local businesses, and the wider Lincolnshire community to play their part in making the dream a reality.
There are four ways to support the campaign:
- Make a pledge: Every contribution, big or small, helps bring the club one step closer to securing its home.
- Spread the word: Share the crowdfunding link on social media and encourage others to get involved.
- Fundraise: Organise your own sponsored event or challenge - funds raised can be linked directly to the project via Crowdfunder.
- Get in touch: To learn more or discuss partnership opportunities, contact Abi Lee at

The club hopes that through collective effort, community spirit, and the shared love of rugby, it can reach its target and ensure a thriving home for players of all ages for generations to come.
A spokesperson for the University of Lincoln said: “As part of an ongoing review of our estate, the University of Lincoln is exploring options for the land currently occupied by Lincoln Rugby Football Club.
“We are in active and constructive discussions with the Club and remain fully supportive of its ambitions for the future.
“Any potential sale would not affect the Club’s existing lease, which remains in place until 2062.”

“We’ve always said that Lincoln RFC is more than a club - it’s a family,” added Abi. “Now we have the chance to protect our home together. Let’s make it happen.”
