Shoplifter sentenced

A 40-year-old woman has been handed a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) following theft and drug possession offences.

Nicola Wright, of Shannon Avenue, Lincoln, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to stealing from the Lincolnshire Co-op in Bracebridge Heath and B&M on Waterside South - with stolen goods totalling over £230 in value between the 10 May and 8 June this year. She also pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis.

Along with the CBO, which bans her from entering any retail premises within North Hykeham and Bracebridge Heath, she was handed a 12-month Community Order with a 20-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and a six-month Drug Rehabilitation Order.

Community Beat Manager Sergeant Alex Taylor said: “Wright is a prolific offender who has been convicted of shop thefts in North Kesteven.

"Retail crime is a force priority as shop staff should be able to come to work without fear of being witness to or victims of crime and anti-social behaviour.

"We also recognise the wider impact on our local communities that shop theft has in terms of building their confidence in policing. We will take action against those who seek to disrupt the lives of hard-working members of the public."
