Traffic diversion on Nettleham Road next week
Traffic diversions will be needed as an old footpath on Lincoln’s Nettleham Road is replaced with works starting on Monday.
The old, slabbed sections between Longsdale Road and Palmer Road will be removed and replaced between February 2 and Tuesday, February 10 between 07.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Sunday.
Jonathan Evans, Head of Highway Client at Lincolnshire County Council said: "These works are being carried out to improve the condition and long-term durability of the footpath that sits on Nettleham road.
“The works will mean that we are providing a more level, reliable and safer path for pedestrians.”
Traffic management
A northbound road closure is needed for the duration of the works with a diversion route in place throughout. Access will be maintained for residents. The signed diversion route will be; Broadway / Newport Road / Longsdale Road and vice versa.
The officer added: “Because of the nature of the work, which will cost around £40,000 to deliver, there will be some disruption to the usual traffic flow to keep road users, pedestrians and our crew safe during the process.
“We have come up with a programme where the crews will be working on the weekend of February 7-8 to help get this completed as quickly as possible. We will continue to do everything we can to limit the length of time that these works take.
“I would like to thank everyone affected for their patience and understanding whilst these works are happening.”
