You need to tell your friends and family to download the new WOW Lincoln app.
Then never again will you have to utter the words: “There’s nothing happening in Lincoln.”
WOW Lincoln is the new What’s On app for the city - WOW stands for What’s On Where – and it is now live.
There are already over 1,000 listings on the site for everything from theatre shows and gigs to kids’ activities and wellbeing events.
WOW Lincoln has been created by the team behind Hello Lincoln in partnership with Ellmore Digital and City of Lincoln Council through the Be Lincoln Towns Fund.
“We had the idea to create the app, but it could not have been done without our partners - Dan Ellmore who had the technical know-how and the city council which invested in the app to support Lincoln’s Visitor Economy (VE),” said Editor Amanda McSorley.
“By the time you read this we’re expecting the number of events we have got up on the site to have doubled and we’ll be updating it on a regular basis.
“The Indie is known for its great What’s On guide - where else can you find out about Suede at the Engine Shed on one page and bingo in a church hall on the next?
“The app takes the listings provision for Lincoln to the next level. It’s designed for visitors and residents alike.
“WOW Lincoln will help everyone get the best out of our beautiful city.”

The city council has welcomed the app as one of the first stages in revitalising the Visit Lincoln brand after Destination Lincolnshire collapsed last year.
“We’re totally committed to Visit Lincoln to support VE businesses and the city as a whole, which I think was evident from our hugely successful Christmas in Lincoln campaign,” said Kate Ellis, Strategic Director, Major Developments.
“Getting the WOW Lincoln up and running is a real bonus for the city in the countdown to the relaunch of Visit Lincoln this spring.”
We’re offering two sets of prizes to people who download the app - one for businesses and one for the public.
Up for grabs for businesses is a £700 advertising package with WOW Lincoln, Hello Lincoln and Lincoln Independent.
For individuals we are giving away £100 to spend with local shops, restaurants or venues.
