Night-time road closures on Tritton Road
Drainage works for the easter access to the new Charterholme suburb of Lincoln will see road closures along Tritton Road in early January,
City of Lincoln Council has reported that construction on the access remains on schedule – it is a major infrastructure project the includes new vehicular bridge over the railway and significant road improvements along Tritton Road. The works will be carried out over five nights, beginning on Monday - Friday, January 6 -10, between 8pm and 6am and Tritton Road will be closed to traffic between the Skellingthorpe Road and Dixon Street junctions during these hours.
A diversion route will direct northbound traffic via the Lincoln Bypass (A46) and southbound traffic via Dixon Street and Boultham Park Road. Advance warning signs have installed.
Each night will involve drainage and ducting road crossings, followed by surface reinstatement works. On the final night, a new traffic management layout will be implemented, including a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) reducing the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph through the works.
The left-hand lane at Nosey Parker (Tritton Road into Valentine Road) will also be closed. Left turns into Valentine Way will still be permitted but this will be from the central lane rather than the usual left-hand lane.
