Lincoln’s annual Remembrance Service to mark the end of the First World War will take place this Saturday, November 9, at 10.45am.

The events organised by City of Lincoln Council and the Royal British Legion will take place at the War Memorial on High Street led by the Mayor’s Chaplain, the Rev Steve Holt.

A Civic Procession will leave the Guildhall at 10.40 am and there will be music the Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue Concert Band before it travels to Ypres, Belgium for the Armistice Day Commemorations at The Menin Gate.

Around 90 members from all three branches of the armed forces will march through the city centre starting at St Martin’s Square at 10.30am

 The Mayor of Lincoln will also lay a wreath at the War Memorial on Monday, November 11 at a service organised by the Royal British Legion.

A Remembrance Service will also take place at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby on Sunday, November 10 at 10.45am at the 57 and 630 Squadrons Memorial.
