Community Counts – resources to help local people

Welcome to the Community Counts column on Hello Lincoln – a round-up of the news from the groups, schemes and organisations that may just be able to provide the support or help you or your family need.

Much of the information in this first column has been supplied by Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Partnership, but we’re inviting all groups working in the wider community to get in touch with their news.

Help NHS improve services

As a patient at the heart of the care journey, you experience nearly every step of the process. This unique perspective allows you to offer invaluable insights into the quality and delivery of care.

By sharing your experiences, you help shape better services – not just for yourself, but also for the professionals who provide care.

Have you or someone you cared for recently used NHS services?

If so, NHS Lincolnshire would like to hear from patients and groups from all communities, towns and villages across Lincolnshire to help them understand your experiences in using NHS services.

Your feedback is really important to them and helps them to understand what is working well and any

Have you heard of Lincolnshire Parent Carer Forum?

This organisation is for parents of children with disabilities and additional needs and for professionals who work with them.

Lincolnshire Parent Carer Forum is specifically tasked with working alongside the Local Authority and Health to help ensure that the services they plan, commission, deliver and monitor meet the needs of children with Disabilities and Special Educational Needs.

It listens to parents and makes sure their views are heard by services and also organises special workshops and information events.

Children do not need a diagnosis for parents to become members and there is no upper or lower age limit. e.g. they may be undergoing investigation, have behaviour issues, anxiety, etc.

The forum is free to join and helps parents do the following:

  • find out about changes that may affect you and your family.
  • gain access to lots of information to help support your family.
  • meet other parents and carers of children with disabilities and Special Educational Needs.
  • be able to join their parents exclusive Facebook page
  • keep informed about coffee mornings, events, conferences, consultations.
  • tell them your views about services e.g. health, education, social care, leisure etc.
  • contribute to how services should be shaped.

To register with Lincolnshire Parent Carer Forum you must have a child with SEND. Any parent or carers must either live in Lincolnshire (not North East Lincolnshire or North Lincolnshire) or have a child in education within Lincolnshire.
