Making a difference with Macmillan
Shoppers are helping to fund vital support for local people living with cancer through Lincolnshire Co-op’s Community Champions Scheme.
Each time a Co-op dividend card is used in store a contribution is made to the scheme, which is currently raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support with a target of £200,000.
As part of its work with the charity the Coop visited a Macmillan Information Centre at Lincoln County Hospital to learn more about the services it offers to the community.
The drop-in centre off the hospital’s main entrance gives cancer patients to talk through their worries with nurses or get information brochures and advice on topics such as how to explain cancer to young people.
Beverley Flockhark, Macmillan Information and Support Service Lead Nurse, explains more in the video above.
The current Champions scheme runs until September 6.
