Sarah Jane Uldall Wins Park Ward By-Election in Lincoln

Sarah Jane Uldall has won the Park ward by-election in Lincoln, securing 366 votes for the Liberal Democrats.

The by-election was held following the passing of Labour councillor Sue Burke earlier this year. Burke had served as a councillor since 2012. Her husband, Chris Burke, continues to represent the ward as a councillor.

Uldall, a professional artist, was reselected by the Liberal Democrats after previously standing in the ward. Labour candidate Sean Burke-Ulyat, who finished second with 280 votes, is the son of Sue Burke and works in the care sector.

Reform UK candidate Tony Todd finished third with 180 votes, while Conservative candidate Joey Gwinn and Green Party candidate Sally Horscroft both received 87 votes. Nick Parker, standing for the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition, secured 25 votes.

Voter turnout for the election was 15.72%.

Park ward covers the southern end of Lincoln city centre and is part of the Boultham county division. Historically, both divisions have leaned towards Labour, with the party winning them in the 2021 county elections.
