Swap your Christmas jumper
Sustainable swappers have the opportunity to bag a preloved jumper this weekend, in exchange for last year’s styles.
Lincoln Sustainable Fashion Forum (LSFF) is providing a pop-up Christmas Jumper Swap Rail, encouraging people to get involved by bringing along their preloved festive jumpers and choosing one that’s new-to-them.
According to Hubbub, 1 in 5 Christmas jumpers are only worn once over the festive season, with an estimated 69 million buried at the back of people’s wardrobes.
The free rail aims to provide an accessible option for people to choose preloved this year, ahead of Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 12 December.
LSFF will be accepting both adults’ and children’s festive-wear at the free event, and will offer all styles from traditional and novelty to sparkly and simple, but the group asks for Christmas jumpers only please.
To get involved, drop off a preloved jumper and pick up a new-to-you one at Lincoln Central Library 10am – 12pm on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 December.
Any item that is donated will go to Save the Children UK at the end of the event.
