Lincoln’s dancing mayor welcomes panto cast

Mayor of Lincoln Cllr Alan Briggs showed off some fancy footwork at the launch of the New Theatre Royal’s Christmas panto Snow White.

Cllr Briggs officially welcomed the cast to Lincoln – they will start rehearsals in November - including Louis Smith MBE, Amelia Lily and Patrick Monahan.

An audience that included sponsors and youngsters from Monks Abbey Primary School were given a taste of the panto fun that’s in store when the performances start on Tuesday, December 3.

Natalie Hayes-Cowley, the Artist Director of the theatre, said “It was a delight to welcome children from Monks Abbey Primary school to our launch. Hearing them interacting with the cast, especially Muddles and the Wicked Queen, was wonderful. A highlight of the day for me was seeing Lincoln's Mayor showcase some incredible dance moves on stage with our pantomime cast, simply brilliant! I can’t wait to get started with rehearsals mid-November, it’s going to be a fairytale panto with an incredibly talented and versatile cast.”
