Two art talks for July
Open Art Lincs (OPAL) is hosting two art talks in July given by creators in diverse disciplines.
All the way from Australia Emily Jackson will discuss Capturing a Diversity Hotspot on Thursday, July 17, which is a tribute to the natural wonders of the south west and western Oz.
“Emily Jackson’s art embodies the spirit and sense of place, celebrating its rich biodiversity,” said OPAL founder Kevin Byron.
“Embracing diverse artistic disciplines, Emily freely incorporates abstractions, stylised forms, and representational elements into her pieces, creating visuals that ignite interest and complexity.”
Sculptor Phil Neal is skilled in the techniques of modelling, moulding and casting as being also a calligrapher and letter cutter. His talk, A Year In The Making, will be on Tuesday, July 29.
“This is an illustrated talk on the year in the working life of a 21st century sculptor, with the special addition of an insight into the creation of the International Bomber Command Centre Operation Manna Commemorative Sculpture.”
Both events take place at St Nicholas Church Hall on Newport Lincoln at 7pm with a ÂŁ5 admission fee.
