Road resurfacing in Scothern
Traffic will be diverted through Scothern as £466,000 of resurfacing works go ahead in the village.
The roadworks along Langworth Road are due to start on Monday, September 30 and finish by Tuesday, October 22, and the road will be closed with a signed diversion route along Main Street, Scothern / Sudbrooke Road / Scothern Lane / A158 Wragby Road / Scothern Lane / Langworth / Langworth Road and vice versa.
Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for Highways at LCC, said the works would be a big improvement in the area.
“The works themselves will see the current road layers removed and a smoother, safer updated road surface put in place. It will make a very real difference to everyone who uses the road.
“The road will be smoother, more resilient and give better braking performance. It’s a considerable resurfacing scheme and we are delighted to be able to bring this to Scothern before the winter weather hits.”
He added: “The nature of this set of works is such that we simply can’t have the road open as usual for the safety of road users and our crew.
