International Men’s Day

International Men’s Day

Today is International Men’s Day and the Lincolnshire Police force is acknowledging male colleagues who help make up the force, while also bringing to the fore some of the pertinent issues that this national event marks.

Deputy Chief Constable Julia Debenham said: “Today is a day to say thank you to the exceptional men who are part of Lincolnshire Police while also discussing the core themes that go into this international day each year.

“They centre around issues such as male suicide rate, the challenges faced by men and boys, male mental health, male victims of violence and crime, and the positive impact that male role models can have.

“Men make up 53% of Lincolnshire Police and their contributions to policing in the county are invaluable. They are colleagues who staff our emergency phone lines, keep our IT infrastructure going, respond to people who need our help, make sure our teams are in date with their personal safety training, to name just a few.

“They make up a diverse variety of the essential services that are needed to deliver policing in Lincolnshire and we’re proud to be celebrating just some of them today.

“Just as we mark International Women’s Day in March, we’ll be sharing some feature pieces with some of our male colleagues and signposting to some of the services available.”
