Crawley Town 3, Lincoln City 4
City showed their battling qualities as they fought back to earn a place in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.
Two quickfire goals from Crawley Town - with 10 and 13 minutes on the clock - had given them a 2-0 lead at Broadfield, but the Imps fought back to level before the half-time interval then blew their hosts away with their own quick start to the second half.
Paudie O'Connor started the fightback, with Jovon Makama levelling the score before Erik Ring and Jack Moylan made the difference right at the start of the second period.
Assistant head coach Tom Shaw (below) was delighted with the way the team responded to going two goals down: "It was a disappointing start and we've got a little bit of work to do on the way we start games.
"However, it's all about the response and I wasn't surprised by how the boys went about it. They reset, got back to their jobs, their responsibilities and the game plan. From that point we played some fantastic stuff and completely dominated the football match.
"We had 24 shots today and 14 on target, and there was some nice execution around the goal. We'll put in further work on it but long may the chances continue, because the important thing is we are creating them."
He added: "Hopefully we can get a big draw. The lads have worked hard in two tricky ties to get through, so hopefully we can get a big draw for the football club and the supporters."
City are on the road again tomorrow night (Tuesday, December 3), this time at Rotherham United. Kick-off &.45pm
