E-bike dangerous driving and drugs arrest
A twenty-year-old man has been arrested and his e-bike seized after he was reported to be riding dangerously in Lincoln on Saturday night.
Shortly before 11.30pm the rider was seen in the city centre riding at speed, close to pedestrians and going against the traffic. The centre was extremely busy with people and it was reported the rider seemed oblivious to the danger he caused.
Members of the City of Lincoln CCTV team were able to keep tabs on the offender for police and located the rider and his bike in the Beaumont Fee and West Parade area. As the rider tried to evade capture he collided with a red BMW then attempted to escape by pushing his bike but was stopped by officers.
He was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, having no insurance, failing to stop, driving without a licence, supplying drugs and possessing criminal property. He has been released while police inquiries continue.
