Emergency response test to take place at university next week

A multi-agency exercise to test the preparedness of the emergency services in a civil emergency will take place at the University of Lincoln next week.

The operation has been organised as part of a general training programme and not in response to any specific intelligence or threat.

The exercise in and around specified university buildings will begin around 11am on Thursday, July 10 and should finish around 2pm.The exercise area will be closed off from 8am for preparation, and will reopen around 4pm.

The Amazon delivery and collection point outside the Engine Shed will be off limits during this time, but no road closures or traffic diversions are planned.

There will be no pedestrian access between 8am and 4pm, except for from participants wearing exercise wristbands, umpire bibs or uniformed services.

“We appreciate your understanding and patience while we carry out this exercise, which contributes to the agencies involved keeping Lincolnshire safe,” said a spokesperson.
