Girl, 7, dies in crash

A seven-year-old girl has died following a car crash near Metheringham.

The little girl suffered serious injuries in the two-car collision on Friday, January 3 and was taken to hospital, but died in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The family is being supported by specially trained police officers and a force spokesperson asked for her relatives’ privacy to be respected.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, which occurred at around 5.45pm on the B1202 road at Metheringham Heath Lane and involved a blue Kia Rio and a white Citroen Relay.

Investigating officers are asking for help from anyone who may have been driving along the B1202, which runs between the A15 and B1188, at around the time of the collision.

They are particularly interested in witnesses who saw either vehicle of who have footage of the collision.
