Head coach Michael Skubala was delighted to pick up all three points and was pleased with the attacking intent his side showed in the 4-1 win over Crawley Town.

Skubala made five changes to the side that was narrowly beaten at Oakwell on Saturday. Reeco Hackett and Jovon Makama were both rewarded with starts after coming off the bench to score in South Yorkshire.

Despite an early setback of conceding early, Skubala was pleased with the response his side showed, with Collins, Makama and Jefferies scoring before half-time.

He said: "We controlled the intensity and when we got the ball we looked lively. Once we got the second goal, only one team was going to win it. The front four were magnificent. To a man we were all good.

"It was a great game and a good three points, and I was much happier with the performance. The biggest thing was our discipline. We looked threatening all game and there were some great performances.

"As the game went on we looked more threatening, we had more chances and the subs that came on had an impact again which is what we want to see.

City's January signing Joe Gardner rounded off the scoring in the second half, getting his first goal for City. Skubala was delighted for the Nottingham Forest loanee.

He said: "I was delighted for Joe after his experiences. He's a livewire and it's really pleasing for him."

There were more injury returns for Skubala's side as forward Bailey Cadamarteri returned on the bench and defender Tom Hamer completed a full 90 minutes in his first start back in the side.

On Hamer's performance he added: "He's great in the air. To see him back after his injury, everyone is happy, he is happy and he played really well."
