Man admits Eddie Roberts’ manslaughter
A man has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Eddie Roberts whose body was found in Carholme Road, Lincoln, late at night on December 8 last year.
Max Skidmore, 37, of Lytton Street, Lincoln appeared at the city's Crown Court yesterday (January 8) and although he admitted killing Mr Roberts, 55, there is a dispute over the circumstances around the altercation that led to his death. The men had not previously known each other.
A Newton Hearing will be held to establish the facts before Skidmore is sentenced – in particular whether Mr Roberts was punched or slapped.
Judge Simon Hurst adjourned the case until March 14 when full pathology results on the cause of Mr Roberts' death should be available, although a preliminary post-mortem found the cause was serious head injuries.
Skidmore was remanded in custody.
