Meet Lucy and Luna - on a mission to explore Lincoln
Meet Lucy Wilkinson - Hello Lincoln’s new intern with her faithful companion Luna.
We’ve tasked Lucy with exploring in and around Lincoln over the summer to report back on all the amazing places, events and people that make it a fantastic place to live and visit.
Lucy will be rediscovering some familiar highlights, but she will also be venturing off the beaten track so if you represent a group doing great work in your community or are organising a special event tell us about it by emailing
In the meantime we’ll let Lucy tell you a little bit about herself.
Hi, I’m Lucy – Events student, music lover and new intern at the Hello Lincoln website and the Lincoln Independent magazine.
I’m 22 years old and currently heading into my second year of studying BA (Hons) Event Management at the University of Lincoln. I live just outside the city – about 20 minutes away – with my small but mighty dog, Luna. She’s full of personality and definitely keeps me on my toes.
My passion for events started from a young age. Whether it was helping out at local community fairs or spending weekends at music festivals, I’ve always loved the buzz, the behind-the-scenes energy, and the way events bring people together. I’m drawn to everything from large-scale concerts and cultural festivals to wellness retreats and independent food markets. For me, it’s about creating memorable moments that connect people and celebrate creativity.
Live music is a particular love of mine – there’s nothing quite like the atmosphere of a great gig. But I also have a big appreciation for the smaller, local events that make a place feel like home. Lincoln has such a rich and growing events scene, and I’m excited to be exploring it more deeply through this internship.
Joining the Lincoln Independent as an intern is such an exciting opportunity. Not only do I get to gain hands-on experience in writing, reporting, and content creation, but I also get to contribute to platforms that really champion what makes this city special. I’m looking forward to learning, growing, and hopefully inspiring others to get involved in Lincoln’s vibrant local culture.
Whether you’re into food, music, wellbeing, or just discovering something new, I can’t wait to share what’s happening across the city – and maybe even help you find your next favourite event.
