
Police probe following woman’s death
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the death of a woman in Prial Close, Lincoln.
The force was contacted after paramedics had responded to a call for assistance for a 51-year-old woman in the early hours of Monday, March 10.
The woman was taken to hospital, but died at 11.15am the same day.
Officers do not know the cause of death or circumstances surrounding it but are treating this as suspicious.
A 60-year-old man was initially arrested on Monday suspected of grievous bodily harm and has now been further arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody and will be questioned by detectives.
A Home Office post-mortem examination will be carried out over the next few day to establish the cause of death.
There is currently a heightened police presence in the Prial Close area, which is off Westwick Drive, as detectives, local neighbourhood officers and the Crime Scene Investigation team work continue to investigate the woman’s death.
