Sex offender jailed
A man who sent sexualised messages and graphic images to a 13-year-old girl has been jailed for two years.
Jack Trollope, formerly of Fairfax Street in Lincoln, had pleaded guilty to two charges at an earlier hearing and was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday.
The 37-year-old admitted to engaging in sexual communication with a child and sending a photograph of his private area to cause alarm, distress or humiliation.
Trollope was already a registered sex offender when the offences took place and the court heard how he had evaded police for a week after he committed the crimes before handing himself in to police in Leicester.
He made a full admission to officers in an interview, claiming he had been on a drug binge and could not remember any of his actions.
Trollope was given 12-month sentence for the offences involving the young girl and had previously received suspended sentence for sending a victim a photo or film of his penis in December with the intention to cause alarm, distress or humiliation.
It brings to a close an investigation involving Lincolnshire Police’s Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit and case officer Bethany Wright said she hopes this punishment will serve as a warning to any would-be offenders.
“I’d like to thank everyone who was involved in this investigation and helped compile the evidence to bring this case to court.
“Trollope sent inappropriate messages to his victim that no child should have to see.
“This behaviour has no place in Lincolnshire, and we hope this sentence acts as a deterrent to any would-be offenders.
“We hope this result gives some sense of closure to his victim.”
