Skylark Fostering roadshow aims to inspire new carers.
A two-week roadshow has been launched today by Skylark Fostering to give potential new carers all the information they need to take the first step towards becoming foster parents.
The independent fostering agency based in Lincolnshire is running a series of events to coincide with Foster Care Fortnight (May 12-25) the UK’s largest annual campaign to raise awareness of fostering.
Led by The Fostering Network it celebrates the vital role foster carers play in transforming children’s lives and encourages more people to consider fostering.
Skylark’s local campaign aims to highlight the growing need for carers in Lincolnshire and provide opportunities for the public to learn more about what fostering involves.
A series of online Q&A sessions will culminate in a live drop-in event at the Boat House Coffee Shop on Moor Lane, North Hykeham on Wednesday, May 21, when potential carers can talk to Trish Kelly and Tim Clayton, the founders of Skylark Fostering.
“These events will allow individuals and families to speak directly with the Skylark team and ask any questions,” said Trish.
“There is a real and urgent need for more foster carers across Lincolnshire, This Foster Care Fortnight, Skylark want to start more conversations and help people understand just how life-changing fostering can be for both the child and the carer.”
Foster carers with Skylark Fostering receive support including:
- Generous fostering allowances
- Comprehensive, ongoing training
- 24/7 professional support
“Skylark welcomes enquiries from people of all backgrounds—whether single, married, working, retired, or with or without children of their own. What matters most is the ability to provide a safe, stable, and caring home.”
