Something for the Weekend – Vinegar Valentines
It’s Valentine’s Day, so here at Hello Lincoln we thought we’d focus on the supposed festival of love for our regular, fun Something for the Weekend slot.
Perhaps it’s just us but instead of the slushy romance stuff what we found fascinating was the discovery of Vinegar Valentines – the practice of sending insulting messages to unsuitable suitors in Victorian times.
