Suspected drug dealers arrested

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing and possessing an offensive weapon after being stopped by police officers in Lincoln.

Police received a call from a member of the public at 9.18am on Tuesday this week, alerting them to a vehicle suspected of being driven by someone under the influence of drink or drugs.

The vehicle had visited the McDonald’s drivethrough on Ruston Road in Lincoln and the dispatched officers stopped and searched it on Burton Road.

A carrier bag was located in the footwell containing individual wraps of a substance believed to be a form of class A drugs. A knuckleduster and machete were also found.

While the 31-year-old female driver of the vehicle provided a negative breath test, she along with the 35-year-old and 20-year-old male passengers were arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon in public place.

All three have been released on bail while investigations continue.
