Witness appeal after woman suffers head injuries in collision

A man has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a woman suffered head wounds in a collision on Carholme Road on Tuesday.

Tarequil Islam, aged 32, of Lindum Avenue, Lincoln was also charged with driving without insurance and driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a driving licence.

Police are asking for information following the collision which occurred just before 8pm near Carholme Road’s junction with Gresham Street and involved a red Peugeot 107 and a woman in her 50s who was walking with two dogs.

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw either the red Peugeot or the woman prior to the collision or who witnessed the collision and hasn't already spoken with police. We would also like to hear from anyone who has dashcam from the area that may have captured relevant footage,” said a police spokesperson.

The woman is currently being treated at the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.
